CommentLuv: This plugin will visit the site of the comment author while they type their comment and retrieve a selection of their last blog posts, tweets or digg submissions which they can choose one from to include at the bottom of their comment when they click submit.

You might wonder what happened to no follow link strategies. No follow linking is still a good idea. The times when you will want to use the no-follow linking is when you do not want the search engines to list the link.
That is, maybe you have a post or page you’re not wanting people to see so much. This is one way to do it. However, you should be warned that the search engines do not always take note of this request and those spider bots will list it anyway.
If that’s the case, it’s best to protect any content you want to keep private with some sort of a password.

CommentLuv is amazing. I use it on all of my blogs and it really does increase the amount of REAL comments from readers, as there is an incentive for them to post. I like how you can post your name for a link. Thanks for the post.

I have also found that Article Marketing is very effective in the sense that it supports my websites giving it credibility and strength. It is important to understand that this technique does not work over night, rather over a period of time. I have ranked multiple sites in the #1 position on Google and it has taken me 2-3 months to accomplish this.
The article writing in conjunction with video marketing can be very powerful and viral. In other words, it can spread like wildfire giving you a strong presence on the internet.

I saw a new method today for getting backlinks, wanted to share it, basically if you have an Ezine Article account, find your RSS feed link and submit it to RSS engines, and you will get tons of new free backlinks.
Do you think it is best to link to your homepage, or to a particular post those key words relate to? Thanks, Mike

That is a great question! Most of the time, I think it is best to link to your homepage with the keyword(s) you are trying to rank for. Then, you will be building links to what is “most important”. Occasionally, there may be times where a post you have made is more relevant to the conversation and you would point to the post with those keywords.

Anyone consider that the Google search engine will come up with a means to devalue sites that specifically use the commentluv ? I think the number of sites using is not too bad right now, it is not many site relative to the total number of sites, but as it increases Google may make changes to account for it. On the other hand many webmasters monitor their sites with the plug and I suppose that could be looked upon as a positive.

I believe it’s a great pluggin indeed. But am still concerned about how to avoid spamming. IS there anyway to install spam filters that would word well with keyword luv? That would definitely help.

I highly recommend the Akismet plug-in to cut down on your spam. As an example, as of today (and since I installed it), here are my Akismet stats:
2,075 spams caught, 309 legitimate comments, and an overall accuracy rate of 99.874%. Big time saver!
Give Akismet a try and stop loads of spam.

I use commentLuv on all my blogs. It definitely helps increase your traffic. It is true you do get some spammy comments but I think most of them are relevant. I think it is pointless to have Commentluv enabled and make it a nofollow link. It makes no sense. You are doing the right thing and I hope you have much success with it

Hi! After about nine month of not doing it I just started promoting my sites with articles again. I’ve been using Ezinearticles as they have the best reputation and links from that site are quite powerful. But, it’s important to be very patient for getting article approval.

These plugins are not only useful to commentators but it can also help the blog owner to keep it readers on its blog because they will feel that the blog owner appreciate the thoughts and comments of its readers.
Comment Luv is definitely great although, I have to say, I get so many spam comments on my sites that it has discouraged me from checking and approving comments altogether on some of them!

I’ve tried article marketing a bit on previous sites. I’d say that Ezinearticles.com works quite well. However, you must be very patient as it can take up to one week to get articles approved in the beginning.

I’ve got a question concerning commentluv that I’m trying to find an answer for.
I understand that its a method to reward quality posters, but I’m still not sure what the advantage of having this plug in is over being a dofollow blog and moderating your comments?
(it sounds like you still have to moderate your comments, so what do you see as the benefit of using the plug in?)

My apologies for the somewhat late reply.
CommentLuv does indeed reward quality commenters’ on your blog with a link back to their website. It does this by placing the Title of their most recent blog post as a link towards the end of the comment. The good side of this is that by using both CommentLuv and KeywordLuv together, as I do on this site, the commenter gets 2 links. A great deal if it is approved by the site owner. Take a look at the comment by Sean under Learn Affiliate Marketing For Free and you will see this additional link to his latest blog post (it has a little heart symbol next to it)
The downside for some is the increase in spam comments. More people out there trying to take advantage of a good situation. You are correct Matt. You will still need to moderate your comments either way.
With Akismet installed, I have found that I can easily delete the majority of spam comments in a single click. Then it’s just a matter of checking the Pending comments to see who left a good one.
